My Thoughts on Wikis 22.05.07

After viewing a page on Wikipedia, it is obvious that its design principle depends on hyperlinks - a blue roadmap negotiating its way through large amounts of information.

The initial feeling is that there is too much information, and the blue links entice away from spending very long on any one piece of information.

The visual design is relatively busy, with possibilities beckoning from the side-bar menus...and kind of ritolin recipe for hyperactives - our new generation of Digital Natives.

While the information is by collaboration - the entries from multiple "experts", there appears to be a contolling spirit through a master editorial voice, recommending some "articles" as preferrable to others. The criteria for the preference are not necessarily explicit but can be guessed.
